good morning good morning good morning everybody i’m super excited that you’re here i love doing this wednesday morning bringing the word guys i have a a topic that a lot of us have experienced in our addiction in our recovery and we’re gonna be talking about angels angels among us the army that’s on your side what’s up aaron coming in from australia here every day man it’s good to see you good to see you guys let me know where you’re coming in from some clean and sober dates we got some things to celebrate today and we’re gonna be talking about the angels that have been watching us throughout our journey i know a lot of us have experienced some different spiritual experiences some you know some things that you know saved us in our addiction and saved us into recovery and we’re going to talk about biblically what these things are that are watching over us and a lot of people you know can say that you know the reality of it may not be there maybe we were just on drugs or something like that but biblically it says that we are being watched over and we’re gonna be talking about that today what’s up jose coming in from new mexico jennifer coming in from bowling green kentucky it’s really good to see you brother really good to see you quentin from india coming in from india good to see you brother i actually have a friend that does a lot of mission trips out in india he has a a water company that you know is able to filter water from any source and it gets all the way down to what he says is desani water from any source good morning pam good morning from minnesota with love april 6 2020 by the grace of god let’s go andrew good to see you brother good to see you super excited about you brother and uh the story that you are living right now that you’ve been through and that you’re living right now and i think that what you’re about to go do in florida could be something that you know could help a lot of people i know a lot of people in recovery that are dealing with the depression that are dealing with different things and if we have these new outlets in recovery right we have these new things in recovery that we’re able to you know go practice see how they work and then let people know about that’s what this is all about super excited about you brother super excited carrie good to see you good morning adam and rop fam good morning good morning pinky good to see you again day two here good to see you morning san antonio texas let’s stay prayed up today amen abdallah from jordan we got like four or five countries in here right now i’m coming in from many in colombia we got the usa we got india we got jordan so i guess that’s four right now but i know that there’s some canadians out there too all right guys we’re going to start in luke 15. and a lot of you have heard this parable before but i want you to keep your mind open and on the topic of angels among us all right because that’s what we’re going to be looking into and all of the verses and all the chapters that we’re going to be reading today okay so this is the parable of the lost lamb and all of you out here all of you that have found recovery we are the lost land this is who he’s talking about in this many dishonest tax collectors and other notorious sinners often gathered around to listen to jesus taught teach the people the raised they raised concerns with the jewish religious leaders and experts of the law indignant they grumbled and complained saying look at how this man associates with all these notorious sinners and welcomes them all to come to him in response jesus gave them this illustration there once was a shepherd with a hundred lambs but one of his lambs wandered away and was lost so the shepherd left the 99 lambs out in the open field and searched in the wilderness to find that one lost lamb he didn’t stop until he finally found it with exuberant joy he raised it up and placed it on his shoulders carrying it back with cheerful delight returning home he called all his friends and neighbors together and said let’s have a party come and celebrate with me and return the return of my lost lamb it wandered away but i found it and brought it home jesus continued in the same way there will be a glorious celebration in heaven over the rescue of one lost sinner who repents come back so comes back home and returns to the fold more so than for all the righteous people who never strayed away guys if you’ve experienced this right you’ve experienced being that lost land that one lost person that was out there maybe maybe your friends were getting recovered maybe your family never went into drug use you know maybe you know you just didn’t have those people around you that were struggling also except for the people that you met in your addiction but guys it says right here that when we find recovery that we when we repent when we change our mind when we when we get saved there is more joy and there is a celebration for us the ones that were lost and it also says that jesus while he was here he wasn’t going to go hang out with the religious leaders the pharisees of the day he wasn’t going to raise his status by hanging out with the rich people and things like that no he was going to hang out with us us that were addicted to drugs us that were prostitutes us that were the tax collectors and the sinners jesus came to hang out with us and when one of us repents one of us there is a celebration and jesus says he’s he’s like the the shepherd he’s the shepherd he’s the one that came home and told everybody look what i found look this this lamb that was lost that was alone that was alone in the wilderness that i left to go find i found him i found her and they repented they’re with us again let’s celebrate let’s have a great feast it’s amazing patrice hey hey good to see you always good to see you good morning god is so good how everyone has a blessed day i can’t stay on since it’s my kid’s first day of school but i wanted to shout out to my recovery family love you all keep working it love you sarah lynn morning from the san carlos apache tribe in southwestern arizona native american in sobriety awesome glenn awesome good morning kyle good to see you brother good to see everybody so we’re going to go into the parable of the lost coin and this basically all of luke 15 is talking about the celebration for one there’s almost eight billion people on this planet and it’s hard to imagine that there is a god loving and unconditional and personal to us each and every one of us that celebrates when we’re saved celebrates and that’s all what luke 15 is about the parable of the lost coin jesus gave them another parable there once was a woman who had 10 valuable silver coins when she lost one of them and notice he starts it off like this there once was a woman who had 10 valuable silver coins and it’s talking about us again each and every one of us has this has this value right and it’s it’s the same to god our value is the same and it’s infinite when she lost one of them she swept her entire house diligently searching every corner of her house for that one lost coin when she finally found it she gathered all her friends and neighbors for a celebration telling them come and celebrate with me i had lost my precious silver coin but now i found it that’s the way god responds every time one lost sinner repents and turns to him he says to all his angels let’s have a joyous celebration for that one who was lost i have found and there is there isn’t a translation that i’ve found that uses a different word than angels he tells his angels let’s celebrate so if that’s in here and it’s all over the bible it’s in the old testament the new testament it talks about angels so they’re real there’s something going on here and there’s a lot more that we’re going to go in today about angels the reality of them them being with us and i want you to imagine this okay i want you to imagine that you have you have 10 valuable silver coins you they’re they’re each worth you know let’s say a hundred grand let’s just say they’re ridiculously valuable and you lose one you have the other nine in a certain place are you gonna say oh well there’s one over there somewhere i can’t find it i have these nine i’m gonna be good or are you gonna do everything in your power to find that one coin and that’s what he’s saying that’s what that’s what’s being taught in these parables is that even though we have the 99 even though we have the nine that are super valuable the one that’s lost right now is so valuable to us it’s the same as all the 99 put together all the nine put together we need to go find him find her and they rejoice and they celebrate every time one is found and he tells his angels every time that one person is saved one person is is finds recovery one person finds jesus one person repents there’s a celebration in heaven with all the angels and it says there’s 10 000 times 10 000 angels up there which is a lot that’s a lot of angels up there rejoicing when we when we repent and come to him the loving father and this is the lost son this is the parable of the lost son that each and every one of us has experienced in our life okay good morning robert good to see you brother good morning trisha coming in from new jersey happy to hear we got more of the natives in recovery and got my year clean yesterday yes robert yes the 16th brother i remember now let’s go we’re going to celebrate celebration lights we got a year in the house congratulations brother i’m so happy for you so excited man it was so good to meet you and talk to you and hear your story and uh man robert’s been through some stuff he’s been through some stuff and he’s got a really really cool story the way that he found recovery the way that you know he had a very profound spiritual experience and brother i am i’m super excited for you keep telling your story and get it out there janey thank you for your service i think you are amazing jesus loves you and so do i love love you too janie love you too then jesus said once there was a father with two sons the younger son came to his father and said father don’t you think it’s time to give me the share of my estate that belongs to me so the father went ahead and distributed among the two sons their inheritance shortly afterward the younger son packed up all his belongings and traveled off to see the world he journeyed to a far-off land where he soon wasted all he was given in a binge of extravagant and reckless living has anyone in here uh lost everything they had from a little bit of a binge with everything spent and nothing left he grew hungry for there was a severe famine in that land so he begged a farmer in that country to hire him the farmer hired him and sent him out to feed the pigs
the son was so famished he was willing to even eat the slop given to the pigs because no one would feed him a thing and i remember in my in my addiction when i was 86 from the homeless shelter kicked out of the homeless shelter and i went back in that line to eat like a week later and i wasn’t allowed in to eat man it was it was a really hard time we’ve all been through some hard times like this where we where we went on a binge and then we were just broken i don’t know i don’t know about pig slop but who knows who knows where it could have been humiliated the son finally realized what he was doing and he thought there are many workers at my father’s house who have all the food they want with plenty to spare they lack nothing now remember we’re looking at this through the lens of of the spirit right and the lens of angels among us right and it’s saying there are many workers at my father’s house who have all the food they want with plenty to spare his father’s house is the kingdom that’s what he’s talking about the father’s house is is the kingdom of heaven it’s a relationship with the father it’s a relationship with god and those that are in it he’s realizing like oh my gosh i’m out here i’m on a bender i’m i’m losing everything i’m completely broke i’m completely disgusted i’m embarrassed i’m ashamed because i’m eating pig slop working for some random farmer when my when my father over here has everything i could possibly want
why am i here dying of hunger feeding these pigs and eating their slop i want to go back home to my father’s house and i’ll say to him father i was wrong i’ve sinned against you i’ll never be worthy to be called your son please father just treat me like one of your employees
and guys that’s that’s where i got in my addiction at the very end i was so broken i i i wanted to die i didn’t want to be here anymore it was and i i i don’t even i don’t even remember wanting anything except for to die or get clean and i couldn’t get clean i couldn’t find recovery so i just wanted to die and i told god that and there’s like there’s something that happens with an honest admission like i just don’t want this life that i’m living anymore like please just help me in any way you can just help me in any way i’ll take anything god please help me so the young son set off for home from long distance away from a long distance away while so while he’s on his way home the father sees him from a long distance away saw him coming dressed as a beggar and great compassion swelled up in his heart for his son who was returning home so the father raced out to meet him so this is illustrating that when we are when we are going back home when we are going back to the father when we’re going back into prayer when we’re going back into a relationship with him he runs to us we don’t go the whole way to him as soon as we make that decision to set back forth towards him to set up on that journey towards him to start seeking him again to start building that relationship again he gets so excited he swells up with compassion in his heart great compassion swells up in his heart and he runs to the to his son runs to us to get back in relationship so the father raced out to meet him he swept up he swept him up in his arms hugged him dearly and kissed him over and over with tender love then the son said father i was wrong i have sinned against you i could never deserve to be called your son just let me be the father interrupted and said son you’re home now turning to his servants the father said quick bring me the best robe my very own robe and i will place it on his shoulders bring the ring the seal of sonship and i will put it on his finger and bring out the best shoes you can find for my son let’s prepare a great feast and celebrate for this beloved son of mine was once dead but now he’s alive again once he was lost but now he is found and everyone celebrated with overflowing joy now the older son was out working in the field when his brother returned and as he approached the house he heard the music of celebration and dancing so he called over one of the servants and asked what’s going on the servant replied it’s your younger brother he’s returned home and your father is throwing a party to celebrate the his homecoming the older son became angry and refused to go in and celebrate so his father came out and pleaded with him come and enjoy the feast with us the son said father listen how many years have i been working like a slave for you performing every duty you’ve asked as a faithful son and i’ve never once disobeyed you but you’ve never thrown a party for me because of my faithfulness never once have you even given me a goat that i could feast on and celebrate with my friends like he’s doing now but look at this son of yours he comes back after wasting your wealth on prostitutes and reckless living and here you are throwing a great feast to celebrate for him the father said my son you are always with me and by my side everything i have is yours to enjoy it’s only right to celebrate like this and be overjoyed because this brother of yours was once dead and gone but now he is alive and back with us again he was lost but now he is found and guys this is such a beautiful illustration of god’s love he’s telling the son that was always with him that the people that were always you know never went through addiction that we’re always going to to church and going to you know family events and and never missing funerals or weddings or or things like that that we missed in our addiction right he’s telling that son you’ve always been with me and everything i have is yours but your son your brother over here the one that’s been lost the one that we haven’t seen in years the one that’s been homeless and and addicted to drugs that turned off his cell phone that stopped talking to us because he didn’t want us to watch him die this son just came home we have to celebrate look at i’m so happy you’re not losing anything you’re not losing anything by him coming back we have to celebrate him coming back and this is what he says about every single one of you out there when you when you have repented when you have gotten clean and sober when you have found your relationship with god there is a celebration for you and this is we’re talking about in the heavenly realm we’re talking about angels we’re talking about god right some of us weren’t you know immediately happily welcomed back by family right some of us had that experience but when we when we pray and we meditate about it we can envision the angels in heaven rejoicing partying celebrating throwing up mocktails and cheers in each other and having a great time because we came back and that’s what’s going on with this my husband is in detox facility right now so prayer is needed please god we just in jesus name we just lift up trisha’s husband right now to you god we ask that you would work in his heart during this time in detox and god would you just make a new encounter with him god give him the the courage the strength and the power your power god to overcome addiction god to overcome alcoholism god we just ask that you would make a new relationship with him introduce yourself to him and help him in this time god and help trisha god lift her up to be somebody that that introduces you god to him in a new way when he comes home god we just ask god that you would bless them and keep them in your name jesus amen amen congratulations congratulations was so low in his life that he would eat with pigs amen jessica amen they lacked nothing the people that were always with god lacked nothing us that walked and wandered so far away that into our drug addiction when we lost everything right we did lose everything we were completely bankrupt spiritually emotionally financially we lost everything in our addiction but we’re back now and there’s a celebration i forgot about the celebration lights going back to red honest remission and repentance amen sir hey fran good to see you good to see you amen amen so we’re gonna hop over to ooh this is something i was on the plane from uh from cartagena to medellin last week or this weekend and i started in hebrews and i found this passage and i was like oh my gosh i’ve never read it like that i don’t know how many times i have read hebrews when i read this i was like this just solidified so many experiences that i had in my addiction in my life before addiction and now and uh i just love this passage now let me get to it so this is in hebrews one starting at four this is called jesus is greater than angels he is infinitely greater than angels for he inherited a rank and a name far greater than theirs for god has never said to any angel what he said to jesus you are my favored son today i have fathered you and this i will be the father to him and he will be the son to me and again when he brought his firstborn son into the world let all my angels bow down before him and kiss him in worship and about his angels saying angels he says i make my angels swift winds and my minister’s fiery flames but about his son he called him god saying your throne oh god endures forever and ever and you will rule your kingdom with justice and righteousness for you have cherished righteousness and detected lawlessness for this reason god your god has anointed you and poured out the oil of his of bliss on you more than on any of your friends and he called him lord saying lord you formed the earth in the beginning and with your own hands you crafted the cosmos they will both one day disappear but you will remain forever they will all fit they will all fade like a worn out garment and they will be changed like clothes and you will fold them up and put them away but you are i am you never change years without end and god has never said this to any of his angels take your seat next to me at my right hand until i force your whispering enemies to be a rug under your feet then here it is what role then do the angels have the angels are spirit messengers sent by god to serve those who are going to be saved and when i read that and i thought about all the experiences that i had in my addiction before addiction when i when i heard a voice or i had this intuitive feeling right that saved me from a situation this solidified solidified for me that it’s here it’s real there’s angels watching us there’s angels guarding over us the ones who are going to be saved even before we’re saved even before we say yes to jesus there’s angels watching us knowing that we are called to that we’re called to him and i did want to tell you a couple stories of that came up when i was when i was reading this so there was uh there was a time in high school i was i went to columbine high school i was on the football team and it was my junior year of high school and we were throwing a big party at my best friend’s house a giant party and there were five of us that went there before and on the football team we had this rule that if you go out to party and you’re gonna drink you either stay at the house that you are partying at you’re not allowed to drive or another football player drives you home from that party this night uh i was a junior and ty who was a senior he was like six two six three 270 280 pounds and ran like a four 740 4640 big guy right and he was my driver that night so five of us went and we were setting up the beer pong table setting up the kegs and everything and i played a couple games was having fun and this was before the party started before people started showing up and i played two games of beer pong and then i sit down next to tai and i’m talking to my friend in front of me and ty’s like hey we’re gonna stay here right i was like yeah bro he’s like so i can start drinking i was like yeah let me grab your beer and i go over to the keg and i fill him up a solo fill up my solo i sit back down and i hand it to him and then i look back forward and when i look back forward i felt something go in through the top of my head all the way through my body and in that moment i felt an immense amount of fear like this crazy amount of fear and it was like my body was being taken over by something that’s the only way i can explain it and i was looking forward and as tai went to take a drink of his cup my hand shot over above it and i looked him in the eyes and i said ty we got to go and to this day you got to imagine a junior in high school telling a senior you know the senior with authority over him on the football team senior that has seniority over him in school everything he says to this day the reason why he just said okay and put the cup down is because he saw something else in my eyes talking to him so we leave we go to clement park we’re playing basketball for a little while it’s like two three hours you know later and the party had gone off you know we were we were planning on having a big party you know and uh we got a call a little later from from another friend of mine that was at the party and there was a shooting at the party apparently um and my best friend was the one whose house it was and apparently you know a couple few hours into the party a gang shows up like 30 dudes all dressed the same and everything and my friend is standing at the door with the door open like this and roman is standing next to him which is where i would have been standing because robert he was my best friend standing right here and he’s he’s like tell them guys we can’t let you in this is a high school party like you know this is this is not that kind of party we can’t let you in and then his sister was out in the street and he yells at her hey get your ass in here and when he says that three of the guys take out guns and start shooting roman turns around to run gets hit in the back of the head and killed two other people got shot and that experience for me it was it was really difficult to you know i felt guilt for it for a little while but in reality like god pulled me out of that situation he sent what role then do the angels have the angels are spirit messengers sent by god to serve those who are going to be saved and i don’t know why i don’t know why he pulled ty and i out right but tai says to this day that the reason why is he saw something else talking through through me and that just it solidified you know it solidified what happened it solidified my faith then another time i’m going to give you one more story of of angels right revelation moment amen amen i was it was 2016 and i was on a cross-country road trip i just broken up with my with my girlfriend i took all my stuff in my apartment my ranch house in california by the by the beach and and gave it away right and gave it to the uh the veterans affairs for to house homeless or to house uh veterans and my mom came and did a cross-country road trip with me we had made it to vegas and uh we had to stay there for the night and i left my mom in the hotel because i’m sick at the time and i have to go find dope and i find a prostitute and you know take her you know i i’m like hey you know where to pick up because that’s kind of what we did back then find the person that can pick up and then ask me if they can pick up and we’re walking down this alley this dark alley we’re all alone and uh we’re walking down the alley and i’m looking at her and i’m like all right so i want a gram of heroin and i want a grandma meth and you know i’m talking to her and as i’m talking to her i hear a voice from above my head a voice say turn around and as i turned around my hand was already coming up like this and i look behind me and there’s a dude three steps behind me with a doubled up cocked fist like this getting ready to knock me out to rob me and i just turned around and i said wrong guy and he like fell down and he like tried to he stumbled and was trying to get back up and stuff and then he ran off and what else could that possibly be but a spirit messenger sent by god to serve those who are going to be saved and i’m telling these stories because because i’ve had these experiences and i know each and every one of you out there has had spiritual experiences especially you know if you if you’ve been in addiction if you’ve come out of addiction and these things you know if you found recovery we don’t find recovery without the help of god period you can say higher power you can say you know you don’t believe in jesus yet and that kind of stuff but you don’t you can’t if you’re a real addict if you’re the real deal you have god with you if you found recovery period there’s no there’s no arguing that it’s how we perceive it how we have faith and how we believe in it right and if you haven’t given your life to jesus yet and you have found recovery and you’re watching this right now this is your call this is him telling you right now that you are chosen you are called and you are his and it’s very simple it’s very simple to give your life to him it’s very simple to start following him to start building that relationship with him and it’s just saying yes all it is is saying jesus i i want to know you i believe in you i believe that you have helped me to this point i believe that you got me fully recovered i believe that you know that you that you came to earth to die for my sins and i want to follow you jesus it’s really easy confess that talk to him and watch things happen watch things happen for you watch this new kind of communication flow into your life from god a new kind of of relationship that it’s impossible to have without jesus i know i know that in recovery you don’t you don’t have to believe in jesus in order to quit using drugs i’m aware of that that’s why this this platform is not a christian overt ministry right going out and evangelizing and things however there’s there’s so much more in a relationship with jesus and it’s the only way that you can truly have a deep relationship with the father so i encourage you to enjoy and give your life to amen amen good to see you alicia good to see you so we’re hopping over to first peter 3 18-22 this is called christ’s victory so this is what it what what it means what christ did and what he’s been given now christ victory christ suffered and died for sins once and for all the innocent for the guilty to bring you near to god that’s what we were just talking about that’s lit that’s what’s so beautiful about studying the bible is like we were just talking about this is how we get near to god a true deep relationship with god and it says once for all that means you that means me that means everybody out there suffering right now that means everybody that hasn’t said yes yet that means everybody for all to bring you near to god by his body being put to death and by being raised to life by the spirit he went in the spiritual realm and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison because of their disobedience of long ago for during the time of noah god patiently waited while the ark was being prepared but only a few were brought safely through the flood waters a total of eight souls this was a prophetic picture of the immersion that now saves you not a bathing of the physical body but rather the response of a good conscience before god through the resurrection of jesus christ who is now in heaven at the place of supreme authority next to god the very powers of heaven including every angel and every authority now yield in submission to him that means that when we give our life to jesus and we’re following jesus we have the entire authority of the spiritual realm under our feet we are able to we have angel armies watching over us we have god watching over us when the enemy attacks we have the authority to tell it to shut up you have no authority in my life you are not allowed to do that in jesus name get out of here and we are we have the authority to do that it’s a practice it’s a growth it’s a skill also that’s what’s beautiful about a relationship with jesus and following the truth because the more we learn about the truth the more we’re able to apply it to our life it’s a beautiful beautiful thing beautiful thing and this what this is saying and the reason why we’re reading this in this in this episode is it says that jesus has all the angels and all the authority in heaven under his feet in submission to him there it says in submission to him the enemy is under his feet the angels are in submission to him so basically he can say you know go over there and take care of take care of uh alicia go over there take care of jessica hey you go take care of fran hey you go take care of don you know and he’s saying hey they’re about to deal with this go take go take care of jeremy over there you know and he’s up there and he’s doing this the whole time watching over us watching over his children watching over the people who said yes who know what he did and what he did was a free gift it’s a free gift for all of us he did it he it’s not something we can earn which is super interesting we can’t work for it we can’t earn what he did for us but yet he continues to do this for us he continues to watch out for us and that’s all through faith and there’s ways to grow faith faith comes by listening and hearing and hearing and hearing the word if you’re not if you don’t have a practice yet a habitual practice of reading the word everything that i’m reading right now and the reason why i read so much on this show and try to you know talk less is because i want you to hear what the bible actually says before i do any kind of interpretation because each and every one of us out here the bible is a love letter to you personally and to me personally so when we read it when we’re alone and we and we read it and we’re journaling and we’re talking to god through it if we’re just if we’re listening to what it says for us we will see and we will hear the communication coming from god personally to us and that’s why i try to read so much in these shows right and guys if you haven’t if you haven’t started yet if you’ve never read the bible don’t start in genesis and go through there’s something called the old testament in the new testament the new testament is when jesus came in and he took care of all the sins and he he did all that and i want you to start with well probably the book of john so you can learn about his love for you because john was always like you know the one that the one that jesus loves you know because he was the way that he wrote the his uh his gospel was he was always talking about how much jesus loved him right he was jesus’s favorite and i believe that the reason why it was written like that for us is because jesus thinks about every single one of us the same because there’s also places in there in the gospels that talk about you know the the disciples were arguing like hey i want to sit next to his left and i want to sit next to his right hey jesus tell us who’s who’s sitting next to your right and jesus is like that’s that is none of your business right now that is not that’s not what it’s about right because he loves all of us all of us the same and it’s amazing it’s an amazing amazing feeling knowing that god is in love with you period okay now we’re going to go over to one of my favorite one of my top three favorite psalms and if we have time i didn’t write it down but i am going to read my number one favorite psalm and i usually read it in the new international version but we’re in the passion translation so i don’t know exactly how it’ll sound but i know it’ll be good so this is psalm 91
when you sit enthroned under the shadow of shaddai you are hidden in the strength of god the most high he’s the hope that holds me and the stronghold to shelter me the only god for me and my great confidence he will rescue you from every hidden trap of the enemy and he will protect you from false accusation and any deadly curse his massive arms wrap around you protecting you you can run under his covering of majesty and hide his arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm he will never worry about you will never worry about an attack of demonic forces at night nor have to fear a spirit of darkness coming against you don’t fear anything whether by night or by day demonic danger will not trouble you nor will the powers of evil launched against you even in a time of disaster with thousands and thousands being killed you will remain unscathed and unharmed you will be a spectator as the wicked parish in judgment for they will be paid back for what they have done when we live our lives within the shadow of god most high our secret hiding place we will always be shielded from harm how then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us god sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go defending you from all harm if you walk into a trap they’ll be there for you and keep you from stumbling you’ll even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness trampling every one of them beneath your feet for here is what the lord has spoken to me because you have delighted in me as my great lover i will greatly protect you i will set you in a high place safe and secure before my face i will answer your cry for help every time you pray and you will find and feel my presence even in your time of pressure and trouble i will be your glorious hero and give you a feast you will be satisfied with a full life and with all that i do for you for you for you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation amen can i get amen to that there is uh there’s so much in this psalm it’s it’s talking about how much god is there to protect us when we are under his shadow which means we’re we’re following him we’re listening to his commands we’re we’re we’re walking in righteousness we’re pure and we’re doing all this that we cannot be harmed we can’t be harmed we don’t have to fear it it says don’t fear anything we don’t have to have night terrors we don’t have to have any kind of any kind of fear of something terrible coming to happen to us because we know that when we’re in god’s care and we’re walking with him and we’re listening to him he keeps us from trump from stumbling he keeps us from going down there that’s why in one of the most famous prayers the our father it says to lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil which means that we are we are consciously and constantly in contact with god and if we’re listening to him we can actually hear when he tells us yeah don’t go over there there’s there’s not something good over there you know we can hear that go over there there’s something great over here you know and we we can walk that way we can follow him and when we’re in constant contact with him when we’re in constant contact with him there is there is nothing stopping us from reaching our destiny from reaching this dream from reaching this passion that we have and part of that always always is discipling disciples to disciple disciples which means that in recovery the the whole 12-step program the whole 12-step message and 12-step fellowship is totally biblical it’s totally biblical we’re supposed to disciple disciples who disciple disciples which means we help people we shouldn’t be you know when we start to when i start to sponsor someone the first meeting i have with them i’m talking about okay the only reason why we’re doing this is to get you to a place to do this with someone else and if any of my sponsors are on here you know that this was the first meeting we had and when we get to a point where you know you’re in your amends you’re doing your amends you have to be going out and sponsoring immediately because that’s where the true freedom comes from that’s where the true joy and happiness and fulfillment comes from is when we go out to help others and then in the biblical sense when we’re talking about our faith we got to be finding people and bringing them to the faith talk encouraging them in the faith bringing them back to the faith talking about jesus and then doing that in a way that’s going to cause them to do that also some of us are called to be evangelists some of us to be prophets and speakers and teachers preachers some of us are apostles you know apostles are the ones that are going to be building things to to create disciples to create disciples to create disciples and we have to be no matter what we’re all called to the same thing we’re all called in recovery to go out and help addicts and whatever your call is however you know that you’re supposed to do this you’ve got to do it you’ve got to do it with everything in you and with god on your side there’s nothing that can stop you there’s nothing that can stop you from fulfilling your call your mission your purpose and your recovery which we don’t know exactly what you might we don’t know exactly what the path to there is right but the whole purpose of finding recovery is to help others find recovery and here’s the thing guys i could absolutely go back into corporate america i could absolutely go back to making six figures knocking on doors and selling satellite or roofing or solar or something like that but i don’t think i would ever be able to live with myself i don’t think i would ever be able to live with myself when i know with everything in me i am supposed to be doing what i’m doing right now helping addicts with everything i have every hour that i would be out you know knocking doors personally for me every hour i’d be out there i would be thinking about what what could i be doing right now that would be building something to help more addicts and i’ve let go of a lot of stuff in order to do what i’m doing right now and we have to be willing to go all in with whatever god tells us is our call and for a lot of us that is that is working i know some people that are that are knocking on doors and doing you know writing books and helping addicts you know but then you know there’s people that are supposed to get a job show people and and curate people back into society show them you know this is how i found recovery you know i’m actually able to show up for my job now i’m actually able to show up for work but when we’re going to 40 hours a week we have to be able to you know prioritize outside of those 40 hours serving others finding addicts that are suffering even if we did you know one hour a day one hour a day of something where we are purposefully going to help addicts some of us that’s meetings some of us that’s coming on these meetings some of us that could be going live yourself but each and every one of us that has found recovery is called to help addicts period period oh i like that it’s a skill to rebuke the devil amen jessica trampling them under our feet amen amen getting a lot of amens amen amen jessica what a great message this morning jessica thank you good to see you always good to see you blessed to be a blessing amen amen now i was i was considering whether i was going to read this or not because this is a different side of god and his angels and what they do so this is psalm 78 40-53 let me take a sip of coffee for this one
how many times they rebelled in their desert days how they grieved him with their grumblings again and again they limited god preventing him from blessing them continually they turned back from him and provoked the holy one of israel they forgot his great love how he took them by his hand and with redemption’s kiss he delivered them from their enemies they disregarded all the epic signs and marvels they saw when they escaped from egypt’s bondage they forgot the judgment of the plagues that set them free god turned their rivers into blood leaving the people thirsty he sent them vast swarms of filthy flies that sucked their blood he sent hordes of frogs ruining their lives grasshoppers consumed all their crops every garden and every orchard was flattened with blasts of hailstones their fruit trees ruined by a killing frost even their cattle fell prey pounded by the fail of the falling hail their livestock were struck with bolts of lightning finally he unleashed upon them the fierceness of his anger such fury he sent them sorrow and devastating trouble by his mighty band of destroying angels messengers of death were dispatched against them he lifted his mercy and let loose his fearful anger and did not spare their lives he released the judgment plagues to rage through their land god struck down in death all the first-born sons of egypt the pride and joy of each family then like a shepherd leading his sheep god led his people out of tyranny guiding them through the wilderness like a flock safely and carefully god led them out with nothing to fear but their enemies he led into the sea he took care of them there once and for all
eventually god brought his people to the holy land to a land of hills that he had prepared for them now that was when i was reading that earlier this morning it was heavy it was heavy on me because i didn’t want to it’s god’s wrath is is equally as you know as heavy as his love if the wrath gets unleashed thankfully we have jesus right this is talking specifically about when the exodus this is when moses was going to the pharaoh over and over and over and telling him about god saying let my people go like god is with me you know god is saying let my people go and then there would be a vast swarm of grasshoppers and flies and these things that would happen and then moses would come back and say guys let my people go god is with me and that’s why it says that he continually he continually gave them chance after chance after chance let my people go and then at the final straw he was like all right and angels of death came through and just started messing up people messing people up taking all the first-born children taking all of them and boom gone and a lot of people say you know well why how could god do that how could god do you know these these these acts over here and these these evil things over here none of this was out of evil none of it was out of evil it was out of protection for his people for you and me you and me are the israelites that were stuck in in egypt as slaves we can look at egypt as addiction we can look at egypt as this this this addiction this drug that was keeping us in slavery keeping us in bondage you know we weren’t able to get out we kept trying we kept asking and asking and asking to let us out let us out let us out and then finally god was like enough
angels of death came in and the angels of death were the last straw before we were actually released to go then here’s the interesting thing it says in here that he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways they will be on your front your back and your sides so god just used the angels of death to go through and force pharaoh force egypt to let us go and then when we left and the pharaoh finally was like fine just leave just leave we left and then he pursued us with his army from behind he wanted to trap us at the red sea and slaughter us all right that’s relapse that’s relapse relapse is chasing us and chasing us and chasing us but if we are continually staying with god continually staying in this relationship with him continuing to help people continuing to work our program continuing to stay in that deep relationship with him he continues to protect us and then parts the sea we’re going through and then as soon as we make it to the other side pharaoh and all of the army the egyptian army is still chasing and then once and for all he closes the water on everybody and not on us but on the enemies that are pursuing us and we get to the other side and we’re recovered we are recovered in the early stages of our recovery we are fighting this thing we are fighting we’re we’re oh we’re building this relationship with god we’re building the foundation of our recovery we’re praying we’re meditating we’re doing our steps we’re doing our fifth step we’re starting to make our amends we’re doing all this battling and at some point in there we make it to the other side of the sea and we can live that way recovered without the thoughts without the the fear of going back because we now know we’re now in a relationship with god we now have this foundation we now have this purpose we have this destiny we’ve built these things we know how to follow them as long as we follow them we have nothing to fear about relapse or about going back and we never have to there’s a reason why we say recovered the big book of alcoholics anonymous the original text says recovered or recover like 30 times literally more than recovering there’s a reason why we have a battle at the beginning we have a battle and then we have a battle for life once we’re recovered but we no longer have to fight and fear drugs and alcohol we’re done we’re done we’re never using again we’re never drinking again we don’t have to fight that thing anymore and i love you guys that’s where this is coming from i love you guys love you guys yes amen it was to get them out exactly jasmine exactly thank you lord for stepping into my egypt amen jessica amen amen hallelujah amen love the worship song egypt yes amen i wish guys i wish i could play worship music on facebook live but i can’t they will shut off my lives i checked on it i was looking at different things if you guys know of any uh license free worship songs that you like send them my way because anything that’s licensed if i play it on the show i will uh i will get cut off and they’ll they’ll take that live down come on come on really this is awesome jasmine so good to meet you so good to see you love you so much now we are redeemed and never going back amen amen catherine good to see you good to see you today was fire today was fire we uh we get went through a lot a lot of good stuff came out spirit is here we’re talking about angels and how god just like is constantly watching over us constantly washing over us and we have this hedge of protection around us front side back we’re just talking about how he did that in egypt march 1st 2017 san antonio texas let’s go let’s go guys i’m going to read you my my favorite psalm and i’ve read this i’ve probably read it in here yeah i’ve definitely read in here um but one day in my early recovery um i was in the passenger seat megan was driving and i know that she’d be cool with me saying her name and if you’re out there good to see you but i was i was i was in my first 30 days recovery and i was carrying my bible everywhere with me it was just like it had become my sword it was like my my only thing right and we’re driving to uh to a meeting or to church or something and i’m like in the middle of talking like i’m like actually like saying something in the middle of a sentence and then all of a sudden it just goes psalm 116 not talking about the bible not talking about anything just randomly just say psalm 116 out of my mouth i was like huh so i pulled out my bible and i went to psalm 116 and read it right there to everybody and it was so perfect so perfect
i’m going to hop in the comments and then i’m going to read this all glory to god for allowing me to see this live jasmine love you girl love you sis so blessed by this psalm 18 is another good one i’ll check it out i’ve read all the psalms for sure congrats to all the ones that has gotten themselves clean and sober amen amen amen to that i get god shots all the time i know god is with me yes brother yes and i’ve on our talk god was with you bro i know he is this is psalm 116 and guess what this is called i’m saved i am passionately in love with god because he listens to me he hears my prayers and answers them as long as i live i’ll keep praying to him for he stoops down to listen to my heart’s cry death once stared me in the face and i was close to slipping into his dark shadows i was terrified and overcome with sorrow i cried out to the lord god come and save me he was so kind so gracious to me because of his passion towards me he’s made everything right and he restored me so i’ve learned from my experience that god protects the childlike and humble ones for i was broken and brought low but he answered me and came to my rescue now i can say to myself and to all relax and rest be confident and serene for the lord rewards fully those who simply trust in him god has rescued my soul from death’s fear and dried my eyes of many tears he’s kept my feet firmly on his path and strengthened me so that i may please him and live my life before him in his life-giving light even when it seems i’m surrounded by many liars and my own fears and though i’m hurting in my suffering and trauma i still stay faithful to god and speak words of faith so now what can i ever give back to god to repay him for the blessings he’s poured out on me i will lift up his cup of salvation and praise him extravagantly for all that he’s done for me i will fulfill the promise i made to god in the presence of his gathered people when one of god’s holy lover lovers dies it is costly to the lord touching his heart lord because i am your loving servant you have broken open my life and freed me from my chains now i’ll worship you passionately and bring to you my sacrifice of praise drenched with thanksgiving i’ll keep my promise to you god in the presence of your gathered people just like i said i would i will worship you here in your living presence in the temple in jerusalem i will worship and sing hallelujah for i praise you lord
